Ericsson is a good place to work if you want good job work and life balance. Sometime extra hour is required but if you cannot attend you are respected. Also you can work at home 2 time a week and they do not call you on vacation.
The development area has a very complicate planning: teams slot plan and agile team members change every time. Due managers decision all collaborator should be generalist, in the other words, should work with any technology (C/C++, Java, Centura, C#) and modules in the system. But they don't understand that the system is too large and has a high complexity which takes a long time to learn a unique module. As consequence, for more than 3 years, managers are looking for a solution to improve the quality. If you are a software engineer, unfortunately your work is not appreciated. Ericsson works with many partners (lower cost, lower quality and high turn over) and if you decide to quit, they can replace you faster - it does not matter how experienced you are. If you do a good job as software engineer, you are not valued. Software engineers who works with other stuffs like patents or innovation or poc are more valued even they do not work very well as software engineer.
The career plan in Ericsson exists in theory but is not clear. Most of collaborator believe that do not work and it's useful to managers and RH to evaluate negatively the employee.
